1. What to do when Growing gets out of hand?
As many of you know we have been working hard to promote Guiding in our small town and its gone fantastically well. However I do feel leaders should be aware of their own maximum numbers. For us the size of the room is the main limiting factor. I am not a fan of having girls sat on a waiting list, it makes me feel awful. However adopting a district wide approach can help other nearby units who may have spaces. I know that in many areas this doesn't help either, but why not see if other leaders are interested in taking on some of your list?
2. The national baby boom!
Not only will this affect our ever growing Rainbow waiting list but more directly the number of Rainbow Guiders sporting an ever growing bump! Parents are now joking that if you have fertility issues why not volunteer, cause that seams to work. This terms challenge is to find people to take on these roles.
3. Offering an ever challenging and varied programme
Our leaders are off on a weekend away with guiders from around the country, a great opportunity to get together for adult guiding time but also to share ideas. We often thing that the best ideas we get are free and someone else's!
Why not sit down and think what your challenges are and how you are going to meet them during this new term.
